The 'Trek Elite' advanced course offers a unique blend of everything that makes for an epic race experience; combining the best elements of multi-sport and adventure racing into a classic single-day format. This racecourse has been formulated to offer the perfect mix of mental and physical challenge, teamwork and decision-making, as well as speed and endurance.
Approximately 75km will be covered over a course that brings together the best of all the many natural features that the surrounding area of the host site has to offer. Teams of two or four will pass through a series of checkpoints in both marked and unmarked sections, with options for strategizing their route choice to maximize speed and efficiency. Finish times typically range anywhere between six to nine hours.
The 2022 event will feature a new course design shaped by the dramatic and wild terrain of the Haliburton Forest. This is Shield Country at its finest, and the rugged landscape, rolling hills and abundance of lakes and wetlands set a spectacular backdrop for adventure race course design. Racers will be treated to incredibly scenic flatwater paddling; beautiful forest trail runs; navigation and route-finding sections; as well as fun and challenging "mix-of-everything" mountain bike stages. Complete details are provided in the racer information package below.
