“Trek Elite”
6-8 Hour Course
Saturday May 12, 2012 |
 |
The "Trek Elite"
advanced course offers a unique blend of everything
that makes for an epic race experience; combining
the best elements of multi-sport and adventure
racing into a classic single-day format. This
racecourse has been formulated to offer the perfect
mix of mental and physical challenge, teamwork
and decision-making, as well as speed and endurance.
The host region surrounding the village of Tweed
offers all of the key features which make it an
ideal location for staging the eleventh annual
Storm’ing of the Trent. Approximately 75-80km
of total distance will be covered over a course
that will combine scenic flatwater paddling, beautiful
forest trail runs, navigation and route-finding
sections, as well as fun and challenging "mix-of-everything"
mountain bike stages.
This year’s race will feature a fantastic
new racecourse design; a resort venue with on-site
accommodation options; electronic race timing;
as well as tons of great prizing for top finishers!
Racers will pass through a series of checkpoints
on both marked and unmarked sections, with options
for strategizing their route selection to maximize
speed and efficiency. Complete details are provided
in the racer information package below.
