“Trek”
4-6 Hour Course
Saturday May 12, 2012 |
 |
The Storm the Trent
“Trek” course is designed to bridge
the gap between our beginner and advanced-level
race formats. The middle ground of our event formula,
these races are challenging, yet achievable; less
intensive than the Trek Elite advanced course,
but still offer a solid day of multi-sport adventuring.
As a result, Trek events tend to draw a diverse
mix of racer types, ranging from weekend warriors
to seasoned athletes, and anyone in between!
The host region surrounding the village of Tweed
offers all of the key features which make it an
ideal location for staging the eleventh annual
Storm’ing of the Trent. Racers will be faced
with a scenic flatwater paddling section; mountain
bike stages that feature a challenging but enjoyable
mix of both trail and backroad routes; and beautiful
running terrain through well-maintained trail
networks.
This year’s race will feature a fantastic
new racecourse design; a resort venue with on-site
accommodation options; electronic race timing;
as well as tons of great prizing for top finishers!
Solo racers and teams of 2 or 4 will make their
way through a series of checkpoints across a clearly-defined
racecourse that features both marked and unmarked
sections. Complete details are provided in the
racer information package below.
