General Race Details - Storm the 10
- Open to solo racers and teams of 2, 3, 4 or 6.
- This is a timed multi-sport adventure relay running from 9:00am to 7:00pm. The goal is to complete as many laps as possible within that timeframe.
- Each lap is a single loop consisting of paddling, trail running and mountain biking sections.
- Teams must complete each lap and each discipline in pairs (ie. 2 racers per team complete a lap together before tagging off with the next pair at the transition zone). Only solo racers and tag teams may race individually.

Masters categories are open to solo racers 40 years and over. |
- The course will be a single loop approximately 10km in distance, consisting of a 1.5km paddle split into two legs, a 3km run split into two legs, and a 5.5km mountain bike.
- Further course details are provided in the complete racer informatin package - which will be posted in July, 2008.
- Course marking will not occur until the day prior to Race Day - there will be no opportunities given to “pre-ride” the course in advance.
- Race routes will be fully marked - racers will not be issued race maps or be required to navigate their way through the course.
- Information on the race route and the order of disciplines will be posted on September 17, 2008. Race start procedures will also be announced at this time.
- Teams must complete each lap and each discipline in pairs, and team members must be within visible sight of each other at all times. Only solos and tag teams may race as individuals.
- Each discipline on the racecourse will have at least one “checkpoint” where staff will check racers through to ensure that racers complete the course in full and that teams remain together as pairs.
- Racers must wear their bike helmets at all times while travelling by bike, and their PFD's at all times during water travel.
- Racers furnishing their own canoes or kayaks must have all the mandatory safety equipment, including a bailer and throw line.
- Teams may paddle in canoes only (solos and tag teams may paddle kayaks).
- Kayak paddles may be used in canoes.
- Each team must have a team name included with their registration. STORM Racing reserves the right to refuse entry to any team that does not provide a team name.
- Registrations are considered incomplete until full payment is received.
- Members of a team may be changed, but only if notification is given prior to Race Day.
- Manual registration forms submitted without the requested racer information completed in full will not be processed.
- All racers must sign a race waiver on Race Day. Any participants who are under 18 years of age must have a parent or guardian present when signing these waivers.
- Racers under 16 years of age must be on a team that includes at least one adult.
- A confirmation of each team registration will be sent via email. Be sure to contact us if you have not received confirmation within 10 days of submitting your registration form.
- The complete racer information package (with details on the host site location, directions, Race Day itinerary, accommodations, rentals etc.) will be made available in July 2008
- Teams may either supply their own canoes or use rental boats available at the race site. Rentals may be included with your race registration, or may be booked by contacting STORM Racing directly at info@stormevents.ca
- All racers will receive a pair of souvenir race socks, with the option to purchase Axis Gear “HydroQuick” long-sleeved technical race jerseys at the very reasonable price of $40.00
